San Antonio: America's Rising 21st Century City.
In 2013, San Antonio was recognized by the Public Technology Institute as one of the top citizen-engaged communities in the country. Helping to reach this designation, the City introduced this year several new mobile apps for download and web-based mobile apps to help residents and visitors quickly find the information they are looking for or request City services while “on-the-go.” Early childhood education was on the forefront as well. The City launched a new educational program called Pre-K for SA, which will provide high–quality, full-day Pre-K for an estimated 22,000 four-year-olds over the next eight years. The City of San Antonio also continues to have a strong financial makeup as the City maintained a “AAA” general obligation bond rating for yet another year from all three major rating agencies.
Large global businesses continue to be attracted to San Antonio because of its diverse workforce, business-friendly climate and varied economic opportunities. In fact, the City launched a new webpage that features video profiles of San Antonio area business leaders that highlight the diverse industry portfolio located in the City. Additionally, the City continues to place an emphasis on sustainability initiatives to create employment opportunities in the green industries.
We are proud of our historical and cultural roots, and are proud to share them with the millions of people who visit San Antonio each year. The City of San Antonio is a great place to invest, a great place to experience, and a great place to live.
