In FY2007, The City of San Antonio created the Office of Innovation to identify improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of City services and business processes. The primary focus of this group is to improve City operations at less cost. Since its creation, the Office of Innovation has saved taxpayers approximately $15.8 million.
The team is comprised of experienced professionals who are trained in process improvement methodologies and have diverse backgrounds in municipal government. The team serves as internal consultants to City departments and works closely with senior management to recommend strategies for improvement.
