Session III March 2013 Music Schedule

Take Note Band
Take Note, a pre-professional music ensemble for youngsters ages 13 to 18 fills the need for affordable public performance art events for our City’s locals or visitors and for students who want to take their discipline form to a professional level. Young aspiring musicians and singers audition from across the city through a DVD or CD of their work. Qualified judges then select which applicants move forward to perform at live auditions. The select few are provided a song list of music styles that include contemporary, country, blues, rock and jazz. Member spots include sax, keyboard, drum kit, guitar, bass and vocals.

If selected, students of Take Note learn how to work with other musicians including professionals and are exposed to various styles of musical genres, challenging them out of their comfort zones. The program takes the garage band student and/or the accomplished classical trained musician to another level…… working in an ensemble in a guided professional atmosphere.

Students learn to perform in a variety of settings and for a variety of audiences. They learn how to dress both for the music being represented and for the demographic of the audience. In addition, stage presence is taught, as is the concept of teamwork, all while taking direction and positive criticism in a fast-pace environment.

For more information about how to audition or details of the program, please call (210) 207-3132.
