Alex Cholico 12 and under winnerOur Part of Town
2013 Talent Show

Talented San Antonians of all ages are invited to take the stage in pursuit of prizes in the Parks and Recreation Department’s Our Part of Town auditions and a chance to compete in the televised final show.

The competition has a new look this year. Acts will compete in one of four quadrants. Quadrants are based on City Council Districts: Quadrant 1 - Districts 1, 2,& 3. Quadrant 2 - Districts 4 & 5. Quadrant 3: 6 & 7. Quadrant 4: Districts 8, 9 & 10. The top two winners in each age category will move forward to the finals from each quadrant. Age categories are 12 & Under; 13-19; and 20 and over. Auditions will be held in August and September, with the audition schedule to be announced to registered participants after the registration process closes. The Final show will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Carver Theater, 226 N. Hackberry, with winners in each age category receiving a $1,000 cash prize.

Contestants must reside in the City of San Antonio (for group entries, one member must reside in San Antonio). They must pre-register for the audition by July 31. Pre-registration can be done via mail, email (PDF scanned format), or dropped off in person to the Parks and Recreation Headquarters, 5800 Old Hwy 90 W, during the hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday - Friday, by the deadline date of July 31, 2013. Specific audition dates, times and locations will be given to registered acts/participants.

Audition results indicating contestants selected to compete in the Finals will be posted on the Parks and Recreation website by approximately October 1, 2013.

Follow in the footsteps of America's Got Talent competitor Sebastien de la Cruz, who made it to the finals in New York, having competed successfully in Las Vegas for the right to compete in the Big Apple. A ranchero singer, Sebastien has successfully competed in Our Part of Town and was a guest performer in the BRAVO! variety show at Arneson Theatre last summer. See Sebastien perform at the Arneson in this Video
