Code Ranger Program

Program Information
The Code Ranger Volunteer Program is coordinated by the Training and Education office within the DSD. The Code Ranger Volunteer Coordinator is the training officer for the department.

The purpose of the Code Ranger Volunteer Program is:
To promote community involvement by training citizens to assist the Code Enforcement Division to improve the quality of life in neighborhoods across the city

The goals of the Code Ranger Volunteer Program are:
- To provide a method for citizens to become actively involved in resolving specific problems in their neighborhood and across the city
- To help encourage residents and property owners to maintain their homes and yards to create a sense of community

Leverage Code Rangers to assist with:
- Removing and inventorying bandit signs
- Inventorying vacant lots and vacant structures
- Identifying and reporting areas of illegal dumping
- Assisting with identification of violations along routes associated with events like the Rock and Roll Marathon, Fiesta parades, Martin Luther King march, etc.
- Helping with education at Neighborhood Association meetings, special events

Provide City resources such as a vehicle to perform assigned projects and "uniform" shirt to identify participation in the program
