Movies by Moonlight

Movies by Moonlight has returned for its 6th year with a great line up of family films. The 2013 outdoor cinema series will take center stage once again as the City’s Downtown Operation’s Department hosts the 2013 summer of free film in Hemisfair. The complimentary movies will be shown every Tuesday from June through August in the grassy area under the Hemisfair arch, next to the Magik Theater. Pre-show entertainment starts around 7:30 p.m. followed by a brief intermission, with the feature film beginning at 8:30 p.m. The feature time and schedule may vary due to movie length.  "Movies by Moonlight" will continue to partner with Downtown Tuesday, an initiative created to bring more locals to Downtown. The City offers free parking from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. at all City-operated parking garages, parking lots and parking meters. Movie-goers can park for free at the Alamo Street Lot near the Hemisfair  or across from the Federal Courthouse on Cesar Chavez (Durango Street) lots after 6 p.m. on a first-come basis.

Make sure to bring your picnic baskets, lawn chairs and blankets for the whole family or utilize the concessions at the movies such as popcorn, soda and cotton candy.
