Texas Tobacco-Free Kids Day Conveys Strong Message

On March 23, 2011 Texas schools and community agencies will be recognizing Tobacco-Free Kids Day (TFKD) by coordinating activities that encourage youth to live tobacco-free lifestyles. In recognition of this day several San Antonio schools and agencies have teamed up with Metro Health and the Tobacco Prevention & Control Coalition (TPCC) to provide activities that encourage youth to stand up and speak up against big tobacco. Last year, over 1,000 events were held nationally and 12 were held locally. This year Metro Health and TPCC aim to partner with more schools and agencies in an effort to reach more youth. If you are interested in hosting an event for Tobacco-Free Kids Day please contact Metro Health at info@tobaccofreeSA.org.
