Healthy Start Vigil Honored families affected by infant mortality |

U.S. infant mortality is on the rise, according to a new report from the World Health Organization. To shed awareness on this issue the Healthy Start team partnered with the March of Dimes for a vigil honoring families affected by these tragic losses. The event held Sept. 1 at Main Plaza served as a platform to increase awareness and educate the public about ways to prevent these deaths. Dr. Schlenker also read a city proclamation announcing September to be Infant Mortality Awareness Month.
