Our Mission:
To deliver a quality risk management program that focuses on the prevention
of injuries, the protection of City assets, and the development and
implementation of sound safety programs for all of our employees
and citizens.
What is Risk
Management?
There is inherent risk in the activities of any organization. The
City of San Antonio is no exception. The professional staff
of the Risk Management Division attempts to identify then minimize,
transfer or eliminate these risks.
Our Goals and Objectives:
- Provide a Safe Environment for our Employees and the Public;
- Minimize Interruptions of Services Provided to the Public;
- Reduce the Frequency and Severity of Accidents;
- Minimize Exposure to Financial Losses;
- Protect of all the City’s Assets.
The Office of Risk Management
is composed of three sections:
| Workers’ Compensation |
Our Workers’ Compensation
program is designed to provide wage and medical benefits
to an employee who sustains an injury or develops an occupational
illness or disease within the course and scope of employment. |
| Liability |
Our Liability sections
deals primarily with accidents involving bodily injury
and property damage to the general public. |

Prevention |
The Safety & Loss
Prevention team works to promote a safer and healthier
working environment for all City employees.
