Liability Section
The Liability Section manages claims brought against the City of San
Antonio for damage to property and for personal injuries. Conversely,
we are also responsible for pursuing claims against third-parties,
whether individuals or companies, who have damaged City property.
The Liability Section also manages the City’s insurance programs
for the protection of the City’s buildings, vehicles, and operations.
FILING A CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY
If you believe you have been injured by the City, you must first notify
the City Clerk’s Office of your intention to pursue a claim. This
can be done by clicking the “Claims Form” link below and
following the instructions on the form.
PLEASE NOTE:
The City’s Office of Risk Management is ultimately responsible
for each claim. However, we utilize the services of TRISTAR Risk Management, a third-party administrator, to investigate, evaluate, and manage
all third-party liability claims directly with claimants. If
you have any questions or concerns relating to a specific claim, we
suggest you first contact TRISTAR Risk Management Services directly at (210) 404-0400.
TRISTAR Risk Management Services will contact you by phone within 5-7 days after you have
filed a Claim Form with the Office of the City Clerk.
