Dance TROUPES
Fandango
Fandango offers young dancers the opportunity to continue their study of Spanish Flamenco and Mexican Folklorico dance traditions. The dancers audition for the troupe and range in age from 11 to 19. Auditions are generally held in early August of each year. The troupe has performed in Germany and Mexico as well as the United States. They perform regularly during the summer at the Arneson River Theatre.
Alamotion
This troupe specializes in tap, jazz, hip hop and ballet. The troupe also performs during the summer months at the Arneson River Theater, with local talent providing vocals and acting as emcees. The show features group, ensembles and solos. Auditions are generally held in early August of each year and are open to youth 11 - 24 years of age.
Alamotion Too
Dancers are invited to try out for Alamotion Too, the department's contemporary performance troupe which focuses on apprentice dance training and community performances. For next fiscal year 2013- 2014, auditions will be open to participants between the ages of 11 – 19, aligning all troupes within one set of age requirements.
