Campers will explore the basics of trees, native plants, mammals, geology, reptiles, birds and insects in a natural area outdoor setting. Hiking along the Medina River and kid-friendly, take-home nature craft activities will be included.
Nature camp is recommended for elementary aged students, 7 - 10 years old. (Target 2nd - 5th grade). Suggested donation: $60 for one week.

INSECTS vs. ARACHNIDS
Dr. Cary Guffey, Our Lady of the Lake Science Professor, will present an informative discussion about the amazing critters in the insect and arachnid world. Learn about the good, bad and ugly of these tiny creatures. Good program for the whole family. Kid friendly activity included.

Doc Edwards ‘TM Amazing Aquifer Adventure!
The award-winning Doc Edwards'TM Amazing Aquifer Adventure! program raises awareness of the Edwards Aquifer as a natural resource through a fun, interactive approach. Through this program, Doc Edwards™, a fictional aquifer explorer, takes kids on an educational journey through the Edwards Aquifer system, along the way highlighting the aquifer’s geology and hydrology as well as the plant and animal species that live there. Kid friendly craft included.

FISHING FUN!
The San Antonio River Authority will conduct two kid friendly fishing clinics this summer. Explanations of the State of Texas Fishing Rules and Regulations will be discussed. Hands on knot tying and casting activities will be provided. Families may also go fishing along the Medina River after the program. Fishing door prizes included. This program is limited to 25 participants each and suggested for families with children 5-12 years old. Reservations are recommended.

FALL FEST - The annual FALL FEST activities include art in the park, live snakes, mammal skins, native plants, water conservation, fishing fun, and more. Bring your whole family, troop, or organization, for a morning of outdoor nature fun. Free trees for the first 50 families attending.
About
This natural area gives citizens access to a beautiful 511-acre property that has been enhanced with 7 miles of trails with interpretive features representing El Camino Real wagon trail.
The northside of the park includes a large covered pavilion, restrooms, trailhead, parking and a staff building. The park also features a group camping area available by reservation. This area includes parking, camping, restrooms, water service and a small covered pavilion for camping activities.
