Dates have been set for two public meetings at which the San Antonio Zoo will present its vision for redevelopment of the former Parks Headquarters site at Brackenridge Park, City officials said today.
The first facilitated public meeting will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 10, at Lion’s Field Adult and Senior Citizens Center, 2809 Broadway.
The second meeting is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, also at Lion’s Field. Citizens are invited to attend either or both sessions.
The purpose of these meetings is to ensure that the redevelopment plans as they affect Brackenridge Park are understood by all stakeholders and meet timelines for improvement of the site, City officials said.
City staff will continue to work with the Zoo and stakeholders to expedite the enhancement of the 2.5-acre property, which previously served as office space and warehouse for the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department. The property includes a historic structure known as the Donkey Barn.
