We're excited. San Antonio is working hard to go green. Part of that effort is to expand recycling in its City parks. The Parks and Recreation Department invites citizens to gear up to recycle in City parks as new locations become available with recycling centers. Thanks to a new initiative, citizens will soon see blue recycling centers in several parks and along our greenway trails.
Look for the blue recycling centers at parks such as Brackenridge, Elmendorf Lake, Miller's Pond, O.P. Schnabel and Woodlawn Lake Parks, and at the trailheads on our Leon Creek and Medina River greenway trails. In Hardberger Park, look for beige animal proof recycling centers. Blue recycling centers have been installed at more than 150 parks.
