The City of San Antonio commissioned Public Financial Management, inc. (PFM) to complete an independent assessment of the feasibility of carsharing in San Antonio. The study found that: Downtown San Antonio possesses the most promising mix of neighborhood characteristics that can support a viable car-sharing program. Despite the City's relatively low population density, which will serve as a headwind to the successful implementation of car sharing, PFM identified multiple contiguous census tracts in the downtown where a small-scale carsharing program can take hold, and potentially thrive over time. The full report is available at: CS Feasibility Study.
