Brush and Bulky Solid Waste Manager
Salvador E. Ytuarte is the Solid Waste Manager for the Brush and Bulky Division which includes collecting city-wide brush and bulky materials for San Antonio customers. In addition, he oversees special events such as Dial-A-Trailer, Out-of-Cycle Collection, Annual City Wide Clean-up Events, Free Landfill Disposal Days, and the annual Christmas Tree Collection program.
Starting with the City of San Antonio in 1991, Mr. Ytuarte began his civil service career in Wastewater, later advancing to Aviation, the Parks & Recreation Department, and finally to the Solid Waste Management Department.
Mr. Ytuarte joined the Solid Waste Management Department in 1993 and assisted with the city-wide manual Recycling Curbside Program and in 1997, he joined the management team. He worked for the Solid Waste Division and Environmental Services department as a Solid Waste Collection Route Supervisor, Assistant Solid Waste Area Operations Superintendent, and Solid Waste Area Operations Superintendent. In 2008, Mr. Ytuarte was appointed to the position of Solid Waste District Manager for the Northeast Service Center. He successfully implemented all four phases of the fully automated two-cart system program and the largest compressed natural gas (CNG) fleet in Texas with 30 automated garbage and recycling trucks.
In October 2010, he assumed the position of Solid Waste Manager for the new Brush and Bulky Waste Collection Program.
Professional Memberships & Community Involvement
Mr. Ytuarte is a member of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) and is a member of the Urban Management Association of South Texas (UMAST). He is also a member of the International Hispanic Network. Mr. Ytuarte is currently the Deputy Grand Knight for Council #7770 and a Sir Knight for Assembly #2040.
Mr. Ytuarte is married to his lovely wife, Virginia, and has two beautiful daughters, Jacqueline and Kimberly.
